The Pro’sKit MT-1280D is a professional-grade 3 5/6-digit True-RMS digital multimeter designed and manufactured in compliance with IEC-61010 safety requirements for electronic measuring instruments and hand-held multimeters. True-RMS measurement is the defining feature of this meter. Most waveforms found in real-world electrical systems are not pure sine waves — they are distorted, non-linear, or variable. A meter that uses average-response calculation will produce inaccurate readings on these waveforms. The MT-1280D measures the actual RMS value on every waveform regardless of shape, giving you the accurate reading that matters for diagnostic decisions in the field or on the bench.

The MT-1280D covers a wide range of measurement functions: DC/AC voltage, DC/AC current, resistance, capacitance up to 60mF, temperature (-20°C to 1000°C) via the included K-type probe, frequency up to 10MHz, duty cycle, diode test, continuity with beeper, and hFE transistor test. It also includes NCV non-contact voltage detection and a dedicated LIVE FireWire identification mode for safely confirming which conductor is the hot line without contact.

Practical safety features include a blown fuse alert (LCD displays “FUSE” and beeper alarms when the internal fuse is open during current measurement), auto-sensing backlight that activates automatically in low-light conditions, a current gear prompt that displays “LEAD” to remind the user to verify probe socket placement before measuring current, and a built-in LED flashlight for illuminating work areas. Auto power-off triggers after 15 minutes of inactivity to conserve battery life.
